Hi! My name is Karissa Povlsen and I am very excited to work with and get to know both you and your child during this upcoming year! I am from DeKalb, Illinois and I attended Benedictine University where I majored in Elementary Education and received a minor and Endorsement in Special Education.
In this upcoming year, the one thing I want to stress more than anything else is the importance of communication between school and home. Feel free to contact me with a note, phone or e-mail and I will respond as soon as possible. If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to contact me! However, I would appreciate you not coming unannounced to my classroom before, during or after school is over, as I may not be available to meet with you. If you want to meet with me personally, I will be more than willing to set up an appointment that works for both of us.
